Maaco’s advertising slogan continues to resonate in popular culture. The latest example: a Today Show report on Formula One driver Robert Kubica’s frightening crash at the Canadian Grand Prix. (Modern safety measures limited his injuries to a slight concussion and a sprained ankle.) Co-anchor Matt Lauer: “It’s amazing how they build these cars to kind of disintegrate around them yet the driver compartment stays intact.” Weather anchor Al Roker: “Uh, oh, better call Maaco.” Co-anchor Meredith Vieira: “That actually looks like me trying to get to the Stop-n-Shop.”
