Maaco Canada celebrates new headquarters

A gala celebration inaugurated Maaco Systems Canada’s new headquarters in Milton, Ont., near Toronto. The 160 guests included Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting Chairman and President Anthony A. Martino, company executives, franchisees, commercial accounts, advertising reps and equipment suppliers.

The new head office is equipped with a body shop geared toward training purposes along with being the administrative offices in Canada. "Franchisees will send their best people here for technical and sales training," said Maaco Systems Canada President Gary Dohring.

“Our number one goal is to advance the Maaco brand name in Canada. With qualified technicians being in such high demand, we’re hoping to build our workforce from within. We need strong staff skill and loyalty to grow the chain in Canada.”

In addition, the first paint jobs for national fleet accounts will be performed at the training center. “We do a large volume of fleet work in Canada. Geography sometimes doesn’t allow us to jump on a plane every time a vehicle shows up somewhere on the other side of the country,” Dohring said. “We’re hoping to take some of the burden off of the shop by doing the experimentation in a controlled environment. In some cases, we’ll tape it and send the DVD out whenever a shop gets their first vehicle of that particular fleet.”
