Gabe Stump, a 15 year old with Muscular Dystropy, had no idea his wheelchair was being updated. Until, that is, the new ride with airbrushed flames rolled in at a pizza party shown on the evening news. Tim and Pat Schmidt of Clive, Iowa, donated the paint job, and paint line supervisor Erik Schmidt, their son, did the custom work. The Schmidts had learned of Gabe’s interest in cars through their membership in a local car club. “We just like doing that stuff. You have to think about other people,” Pat said.
