To help raise money for the fight against breast cancer, Maaco franchise owner Myron Horton of Stockbridge, Ga., painted a 1979 VW minibus “double bubble” pink at no charge. The minibus received lots of attention during a two-day, downtown Atlanta breast cancer awareness walk that raised over $1 million, said minibus owner and cancer survivor Katrina Dickerson. The VW bus will appear in other events and showings this month. Earlier, Katrina had written on her team’s Facebook page, “We will use this bus to promote breast cancer awareness and to help encourage people during fund raising events. Maaco is painting it pink for us for free!!! They have been so nice and so excited about this project too.” The Maaco in Stockbridge is located at 3757 North Henry Blvd.
